I Blame Pinterest

If you’re like me, scrolling through Pinterest has just become part of my daily routine! If I have any down time in between classes, waiting for an appointment, or even for a few minutes before bed – Pinterest is my go-to in order to pass time. While talking to my mom and grandmother about weddings it’s funny to see how different our opinions are about decorations, food, and basically tradition in general. When I mentioned to them that I didn’t want to have a wedding cake at my September 2015 wedding, you would have thought I had told them that I was going to wear a hot pink wedding dress – which hey, many people probably wouldn’t be surprised if I did! Brides and grooms are more and more often breaking away from wedding traditions now days and doing what fits them best; whether that means not serving cake, wearing a colored dress, seeing each other before the ceremony, or having food trucks and icecream trucks instead of your typical catering. While the older generations may be a little unsure of what to think about these new ideas, I absolutely love them – and honestly, I blame Pinterest.

Pinterest has been my best friend during this wedding planning process! I can search “wedding bouquets” and thousands of ideas pop up that I would have never even thought of on my own, and the same with decorations, bridesmaids gifts, venues, dresses, tuxes, and the list goes on and on and on. Sometimes it’s hard to visualize or even put into words exactly what you want, but with the help of Pinterest I was literally able to (and still am daily) print out  exactly what I wanted and am slowly but surely watching everything fall right into place. I like to think of us here at Creative Solutions, to be somewhat like a Pinterest board – cheesy, I know, but it’s true! If you’re planning your wedding or any other event and you’re just not sure exactly what you’re looking for, we’ll come up with a creative solution …. see what we did there? One thing that makes us so different from other Event Planning/Rental companies is that we’re with you every step of the way to make sure that your dream turns into a reality. We meet you at your venue and personally sketch out floor plans and decorations that meet your standards and bring your ideas to life! From then on you’ll consult with us personally and we’ll stay right by your side until your big day is completely over! We joke that we even offer counseling on the side – funny thing is, I have a degree in Psychology so bring it on!

With that being said, don’t be afraid to try something new! Small confession, my mom and grandmother did convince me to go ahead and have a cake, BUT I’m also throwing in mine and my fiance’s favorite desserts as well. There’s lots of little touches that you can throw into the mix of the wedding traditions that help make the big day all about you! For lots of ideas, check out our pinterest page at pinterest.com/csspecialevents/ – & be sure to let us know what we can do to help make your big day one that you’ll never forget!

I’ll end this post with some of my favorite “breaking tradition” wedding idea’s from pinterest!
