CERP: What It Means

CERP – Certified Event Rental Professional – what does this mean?

Our own Shannon Thomas wears a lot of hats!  In her personal life she is a wife, mom, daughter, sister in law, daughter in law, friend and volunteer.  At work she is a part of an awesome team, she is often behind the scenes and frequently out working with clients. Did you know that she is also a CERP, A Certified Event Rental Professional?  The CERP program, is offered exclusively by the  American Rental Association. It is the only rental-specific certification program for those in the party and event rental industry.

Earning the Certified Event Rental Professional (CERP) designation is a three-step process. To become certified, students must:

1. Complete three disciplines. Students must complete all assignments and pass the exams for Foundations of the Party and Event Rental Industry and two additional disciplines of their choice.

2. Complete an essay assignment. Students must demonstrate their knowledge and expertise through an essay assignment.

3. Earn at least 25 professional credits. Credits are awarded for industry experience and formal education, but also can be earned through community service, holding ARA or industry leadership positions.

We work hard at Creative to stay on top of education and product knowledge.  This certification means that Shannon continues to learn about the industry, stays on top industry standards, and is an active member in a national organization with an elite group of certified professionals.

Please feel free to reach out to Shannon or any of our team members for assistance with your next event.  Continue to follow along with us as other team members share their experience and their individual certifications.
